Using acticom's ROHC technology means massive bandwidth savings and improved quality of service. The following are some audio files illustrating how voice quality can be improved with the help of acticom's ROHC technology. For three different bit error probabilities (namely, 10e-3, 10e-3.25, and 10e-3.5) a female voice (coded by a GSM codec) can be heard via uncompressed and ROHC transmissions. The examples were generated by using the ROHC test bed and ROHC measurement tools. All examples show the dramatic performance improvement by ROHC.

As stated above, a transmission with ROHC uses less bandwidth than an uncompressed transmission. For the three example files presented, the savings in terms of bandwidth are 47%. Note, in case no header is transmitted (non-realistic) the savings would be insignificantly higher, reaching a reduction of 55% as given on the Potentials of ROHC page. This clearly shows the efficiency of acticom's ROHC software.
