Mobile communication systems of the second generation are mainly based on voice communication. The next generation of mobile communication systems will introduce new service types (video, gaming, transactions, etc), but voice and audio will remain a very important part of human communication.

We developed our own tool for quality measurements of voice and audio, the so-called audiometer tool. It allows us to evaluate the impact of protocol improvements (e.g. robust header compression even on the application layer).
