For the evaluation of Robust Header Compression we developed three different tools. One focuses on the transport quality of service (i.e., how much bandwidth can be saved with ROHC). For the evalution of voice/audio and video quality of service we designed the audiometer and videometer tools.

The transport evaluation tool displays information such as the total bandwidth used, the compression gain for the header, and the compression for the total packet over time (see Figure 1).

The transport evaluation tool can also simulate errors on the link. A two state Markov chain is used for modelling wireless link errors. All parameters of the error model can be specified by the user (see Figure 2).
